Professional Boundaries

This course is designed to ensure staff understand their responsibilities in conducting themselves within clear professional boundaries and the consequences of failure to meet appropriate standards. It should help staff make the distinction between when their actions are motivated by satisfying their own needs rather than those of their clients. It highlights that professional boundary violations are not a single event but a process, a slippery slope, where minor boundary crossings precede more serious breaches.

Learning Oucomes:

  • Identify how the need for professional boundaries arose.
  • Outline the core professional standards present in health and social care settings.
  • Describe what professional boundaries are.
  • Identify poor practice and its consequences.
  • Develop a greater understanding of adherence to a professional Code of Conduct
  • Create stronger professional boundaries

This Professional Boundaries Course is delivered in 3 hours.
