Train the Trainer Medication Administration

This course is aimed at senior staff in residential care / nursing homes and those providing care in the community who may have to deliver medication awareness training to management and employees.  It is designed to equip them with both the course content AND the presentation skills necessary to deliver it successfully.

Learning Outcomes:

This course authorises the trainer to cover the following areas in their training session:

  • Worker obligations and that of their employer in regards to the documentation and the administration of medication
  • How medication should be stored
  • Different types of medication and how they work
  • Knowledge of the common adverse reactions
  • The seven guidelines of administration of Medication Controlled drugs and Oxygen
  • Drug errors
  • Disposal of medication.

This Train the Trainer Medication Administration course is delivered in 2 days*

*In order to undertake this course in the recommended time candidates must be reasonably confident in presenting to others, I.T. literate and able to quickly understand the application of WORD and POWERPOINT to develop appropriate training resources.
